Our First Red Grapes of the season

Here’s a romantically named grape….NY73.  Gosh, it sounds much better when we make it into “Yadkin Creek” doesn’t it?!?  Our friend Bruce tells me that the grape-naming-powers-that-be have recently named this previously experimental variety, ’Et Noir’.  ‘A Red’ or ‘The Red’ in English?  I don’t know French.

Someone please add a comment if you know A) what ‘et’ means in french and B)how to pronounce “et”.  And I haven’t actually followed up with another credible source on this grape name thing, so this might all be a hoax.  GASP!

O.k., o.k., I know.  I’m slap happy since I’ve just finished up another long day.  These grape processing days are long and tiring for me.  I don’t know how Clyde holds up, but he is like the energizer bunny.  Right now he is down in the cellar cleaning a filter, doing something else, and hangin’ with his good buddy Matthew.  Whew.  All I want to do is read two sentences of a book and pass out in bed!

So goodnight all, whoever is reading.  Dream of delicious wines and then come on over and make your dreams come true! :)

Oh and P.S. – Clyde is not a party-aholic as you might have inferred from my previous post.  He used to be AROUND people who were though.  O.k….off to sleepyland now!

    ‘Et’ means ‘and’.

    ‘Noir’ means ‘dark’.
