I’m late, I’m sorry, but I’ll make up for it with a new contest!

I promised this yesterday, but we had a load of Chardonel to process and I just plum forgot to post.  I’m sorry.  But since I’m late, I’ll hold another contest at the bottom of this post to try to get back in your good graces.

But first, as promised on Monday, I have a quick and easy way to use honey and chicken in your meal.  If you receive our newsletter, you know that September is national Chicken month and national Honey month.  Well, after reading that, Clyde was at the grocery store and found a jar of Blues Hog Honey Mustard BBQ Sauce.

We tried it the other day – smothering our grilled chicken breasts with it; I’m here to say a big YUM!  It wasn’t too mustard-y and while you could taste a little honey flavor, it wasn’t too sweet either.  So thumbs up to this one….and it was so easy!  My glass of Courtois was the perfect complement to this tangy sauce.

So guess what the contest is?  Oh you’re so smart!  Of course, it’s a jar of this yummy stuff all for yourself.  Just leave a comment telling me how you like to cook chicken (or eat it if you aren’t the chef) on this post by 5p.m. central on Thursday Sept. 25.  I’ll let random.org choose a winner and announce the results on Friday.  Good luck, and Cheers!

A winner!

Last night I traveled to Rocheport, MO for their town’s annual Wine Stroll.  I was paired up with Joey’s restaurant out of Columbia, MO who served a delicious crab & artichoke dip.  We were stationed at Art & Antiques (at the Corner of main and Pike streets)….what a beautiful store & a really cool blacksmith workshop!

Anyways, in a shameless plug to get folks to sign up for our email newsletter, I held a little newsletter give-away.  35 people signed up to enter to win this:

I used our brand-spankin’ new three-bottle gift box to make the prize….more in these boxes in a second.

First – the winner is…………….

Woohoo #2!  I didn’t have to count down very far on the list, did I?  So #2 is Erin Rooney – congratulations Erin!  I’ll be emailing you for your snail mail in a bit.  And to everyone at Rocheport – thanks so much for stopping by my table.  You totally made my night with all your compliments & interest.  I hope you enjoyed the event and can come by the winery sometime soon!

Back to the boxes for another second though….

I just ordered these in, and if you’d like to give a gift- these boxes are really versatile.  They can hold three bottles of wine, or one bottle plus two wine glasses plus chocolates, or two bottles of wine plus sausage & crackers, or….well, you get the idea!  Plus they are pre-printed so you don’t even need to wrap it if you don’t have time!  The box, the filler material and a beautiful bow is just $6.  I’ll even put it all together for you for free.  At the moment I have 2 bow colors…the pink & brown shiny one you saw in the picture above, and the gold as seen below:

These would make great birthday, anniversary, or coporate gifts.  Plus, I will have holiday-themed bows in the store in October, just in case you are an early Christmas shopper.  I’ll show those off once they come in. Oh, and if you’ve picked up an item for someone already that you want included in the box, I can definitely add that without any problems or extra cost.

Thanks for stopping by today, and I’ll be back tomorrow with a ridiculously easy Chicken & Honey recipe idea, as promised in our newsletter last week.
