Dry wall artists!

I love seeing the technical tools that people use for their jobs.  And this drywall doohickey is a pretty darn cool one in my opinion.  They set the piece of drywall up on the stand, then roll it into position.  They turn it so it’s laying flat, and finally they turn a big handle to raise it up to the ceiling.

Wow!  That is just so clever. (Yes, I’m easily amazed.)  Once all the sheets were in place, the drywall mud was laid over all the seams and screws to level everything out.

The two Tims arrived at 8am yesterday morning.  They set up, put up a new ceiling, mudded it with several layers of mud, fixed three holes in our wall and ate lunch all by 2:30pm.  That’s why the pictures are so blurry…they moved so fast my shutter couldn’t keep up.  That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

Today they come back for one more layer of mud, then sanding and painting.  The drywall mud looks so even I don’t know how much actual sanding they’ll have to do.  They predict they’ll be done before I open up, or at least very soon afterwards. Then tomorrow I’ll paint the walls.

I’ll share more pics as soon as I can…and I’ll be back later this afternoon to announce the winner of the Blog Candy from Valentine’s Day too.  Cheers!

Katie….That “drywall doohickey” really IS cool! I think your next contest should be coming up with more uses for it….surely something that interesting should be multi-purpose. How about a portable sail frame for our boat….think of the energy saved!
