Peachy Keen Cool-Off Cocktail Mission

We are back into the heat and humidity again around here.  This weather makes me want cold and fruity drinks, so I thought I’d share a quick Sangria-like recipe today with you.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to help break up the heat.  To do this, you must make this peachy keen cocktail before you head out to work (or errands) tomorrow morning.  Then, once you are home again, you MUST have a nice Thursday evening peachy keen cocktail.  Then report back to me on the results.

Peachy Keen Cocktail

Clean and slice 2 peaches.  Place the peaches in a large pitcher and pour a bottle of Whittenburg wine over the peaches.  Stir in sugar to taste.  Let that sit for a few hours to overnight.  Once thoroughly chilled, pour the wine into a wine glass (ice and peach garnish optional) and serve.

Good luck with your mission and – Cheers!

The way my mind works and my life lately, when you said to make the drink in the morning, I was immediately imagining drinking it in the morning on my way to work. ;)

Since I’m a homemaker, and don’t HAVE to leave the house to go to work, I’d be inclined to taste-test this by midmorning. Sounds good with cheese and crackers for lunch….maybe an afternoon pick-me-up under the trees, with a good book and some extra of those peach slices! Hmm……guess I’d better make an extra pitcher for when Marv gets home!
