Daffodils in February

I do believe that this might be the first time I’ve ever seen daffodils in bloom in February!  We have about 3 flowers fully open right now, plus lots of other flower buds that look like they will burst open any day now.

Their sunny blossoms are cheering up the bare winter hillside in front of the winery today!

This has been the weirdest year for weather. One week it is in the 30’s. This week – mid 80’s. Things that usually bloom in Feb haven’t bloomed, while things that usually bloom in summer are blooming now. What’s next, I wonder?

Good question! We just had a crocus bloom today, which I thought I had missed. Usually they are just ahead of the daffodils, but this year, I guess they all decided to bloom together!
