New Year, New Missouri Winery Passport

Happy 2013 everyone!  I’m just popping in today to let you all know about the new Missouri winery passports that just came out.  As many of you know, the previous passport expired on Dec. 31, 2012; but fortunately there is a brand new program in place with some neat changes.

First of all, I’m in love with the new look of the passports!  Oh la la!  But that’s probably no surprise to those of you that read this blog or our Facebook page much.  The photography is lovely on the front cover, and inside the passport there is room for many more stamps per book.  So you won’t have to stack up so many books.

Speaking of stacks of passports, if you own a smart phone, you won’t even need to collect the books if you don’t want to.  Starting in February, you can simply scan the QR code on the poster at the winery (see pic below), or if you have a book you’ve registered already, you can also have the winery staff scan the QR code on your passport to enter the winery code directly into your account.  I believe we’ll also be able to do a phone-to-phone scan as well, but I’m not completely clear on that part yet.

While your phone is out, you can also add notes about the winery, wines you liked, cost, etc. right into your phone.  This will not only save paper, but a lot of extra time on your part.  Gotta love that!

For more information about the new passport program, just click on over to the Missouri Wine site and check out the new rewards, the passport FAQ, and download the smart phone app.  While you’re on the site you can plan your trip around Missouri wine country too…just be sure to include a stop at Peaceful Bend! 🙂
