Goat Daze 2014 Recap

Goat Daze 2014

This past weekend turned out to be a busy one here at Peaceful Bend.  Not only did we hold our first Goat Daze, but we also bottled close to 2000 gallons of wine!  Plus, Clyde’s daughter Julie held her bi-annual farm party/camping get-together too, so we had quite a few people around enjoying and working throughout the weekend.  I snapped several shots with my phone & regualr cameras, so I thought I’d share a few pictures of the fun with you all on the blog today.

Unfortunately, rain was threatening so we cancelled doing the hay rides.  But that didn’t stop the goat love!  Crystal from Murphy’s Place loaded up three goats who have been orphaned this year, and brought them over to the winery for everyone to enjoy.  The goats were so small that all three easily fit in the pet carrier.

I usually get mad at my cats when they get on the tables around here. But who could possibly get mad at this baby goat?

Lots of adults enjoyed petting the goats too. Here Crystal is showing off one of the kids to Connie.

There’s Julie holding one of the babies.

And even a few ladies who came in to celebrate a birthday here at the winery joined in on the fun.

The guys even took their turn holding the goats and posing for a few pictures for me! Alex looks like he’s having fun holding the billy goat.

There’s Julie again with her fiance, Mike. I couldn’t resist saying something about them having kids already. 🙂

Meanwhile, our hard-working bottling crew was down in the wine garden making sure that we have the new vintage all ready to go. We owe the crew a HUGE thanks for their willingness to put in a long weekend here. We truly appreciated all their efforts!

I also want to thank everyone that came by this weekend to enjoy all the activities. We can’t wait to see you again!
