Patriotic Wine Ice Cubes

With Independence Day almost here, Clyde and I were dreaming up a few patriotic ways to serve wine (helped along by our blueberry excursion last week!). Clyde suggested making red, white and blue wine ice cubes from our white wine and a few fresh berries. He promptly named these “wice” cubes.

Wice cubes couldn’t be any easier to make, and you could use them to chill your wine or any other adult beverage.  You’ll want to plan a bit more time to allow the wine to freeze though.  24 hours is best, but they will actually  freeze hard enough to stay in a cube shape after about 12 hours.

Choose any of our white wines, and feel free to substitute strawberries or pitted cherries for the raspberriesThese cubes will melt relatively quickly compared to regular ice, so be sure to keep them in the freezer until you’re ready to plop them into your beverage.  Cheers!
