Many of you got to know Jane and Trevor (i.e. “Tarzan”) Johannsen from a few years ago when they worked for us over the spring & fall of 2011. Well, I’m happy to report that they will be fulfilling their dream to serve on the Peace Corps starting this month!
The couple will be leaving next week to travel to Ethiopia where they will spend the next 27 months. After several years on the waiting list – and one disappointment – they are finally getting the chance to live a major life dream. This couple is no stranger to adventure after hiking the full lengths of both the Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail. And I can attest to how hard-working they both are; so I know they will have a great experience. Clyde and I are excited and thrilled to see these two head out on their journey.
To celebrate and have the chance to say ‘Bon Voyage’, Jane’s parents will be hosting a going-away party tomorrow, Saturday January 10, 2015 here in the wine cellar starting at 2pm. Put on your warm and woolies if you would like to come – looks like it will be a cold day! But we’ll all stay warm talking about Africa and upcoming adventures.
(And don’t worry, even if you don’t know Jane and Tarzan, you’re still welcome to come by – the tasting room will be open until 6pm.)
